Nurse perspectives on the Neria Guard infusion set

Abstract:

Background: The Neria™ Guard infusion set is indicated for the infusion of several medications for Parkinson’s and pain-management therapy.

Aim: The aim of this study was to explore the impact of the Neria Guard infusion set on patients and health professionals from the perspective of nurses.

Method: Two surveys were distributed to nurses: one targeting nurses who use Neria Guard for Parkinson’s patients, and one for those who use it for palliative care patients.

Findings: Overall, nurses felt that Neria Guard improved patients’ quality of life and feelings of independence, was comfortable for patients, was easy to use and train others in its use compared with alternatives and can free up time for nurses.

Conclusion: The positive feedback highlights the benefits of Neria Guard in enhancing experiences in both Parkinson’s and palliative care patients, making it a valuable and more accessible addition to modern medical practice in clinical and home-based settings.
