Nurse-driven implantable port access CLABSI reduction algorithm
Abstract:
Following increased port-related central line–associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs), a clinical nurse specialist–led team developed a nurse-driven algorithm for port access to support clinical decision-making and guide emergency department, inpatient oncology, and vascular access nurses in risk-versus-benefit decision-making.
